Bacigalupi Vineyard

Bacigalupi Vineyard was planted circa 1950 and is located in the heart of the Russian River Valley basin, on Piner Road near Olivet Lane. This area was popular for settlement by Italian immigrant families in the early 1900s. The vineyard was planted by Ernie Bacigalupi on what is now their 5 acre home site. 2352 vines are left on this gentle hillside, all head trained, spur pruned, and dry farmed. Grapes from this vineyard have historically yielded wines of incredible depth and density. Our 2006 vintage was picked on October 20th at 26.2 brix after a long cool growing season.

Bacigalupi Vineyard produces wines with backbone and structure, with flavors that trend toward an almost Rhone quality. The 2006 was aged for 16 months in 30% new American oak. It was bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve freshness of fruit.
